Tripoli stuns number 5 West Central 46-30


Tripoli rebounded from a week one loss against Kee High to take down 5th ranked West Central 46-30.

The Panthers jumped on the board first on a 17 yard run by quarterback Josh Barz.  Barz then hit Austin Drewis on a 37 yard connection as Tripoli jumped on top 16-0.

The two teams later traded touchdowns with Michael Lincoln and Bryan Byerly scoring on the ground for West Central.  Shane Buchholz punched it in twice for Tripoli as the Panthers led 32-16 at half.

After a scoreless third, the Panthers and Blue Devils again traded scores in the 4th as Buchholz and Drewis again each found the zone for Tripoli, while Lincoln and Spencer Grimm added scores for West Central.

In then end the Blue Devils couldn't overcome the early deficit as Tripoli handed them their first loss of the season.
