Economic impact of the air show

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The planes might not be the only ones flying high this weekend at the Thunder in the Valley Air Show...The local economy might be joining them.

Community leaders say businesses in the Cedar Valley could be the ones reaping the rewards.

Officials with the Waterloo Convention of Visitor's Bureau say on average a person from outs tide of Black Hawk County will spend between $50 and $75.

If 20,000 people come into the Cedar Valley, that's a $1 million boost to the local economy.

They also say the air show will be a great opportunity for the local businesses to showcase the community.
