Ben Jasper scored four touchdowns, as the Waterloo Columbus Sailors came from behind in the second half to beat Independence, 39-19 to win their season opener.
Independence took an early lead, when Mustang Senior Nick Shannon scored on a 19-yard run. The Sailors came right on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Sailor Quarterback Michael Letkewicz to Ben Jasper.
Independence led at half 12-7, but Columbus rallied with two more second half touchdowns for Ben Jasper.
Jordan Martin's pressure on Independence Quarterback Mike Krempges forced a safety to give Columbus another two.
Ben Jasper ran the ensuing kickoff back 65-yards and Chris Sink ran back an interception 80 yards for Sailor touchdowns.
Columbus wins its season opener, 39-19 over Independence.
