Iowa City man sentenced on drug charges

An Iowa City man is sentenced to more than 15 years behind bars on drug charges. Jeffrey Brown, 28, was charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. He was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court.

In the summer of 2010, the Johnson County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force investigated reports of an organization selling crack in the southeast part of Iowa City. Officials say Brown sold more than 18 grams of crack over several months.

In addition to his 188 month prison sentence, Brown will pay a $100 to the Crime Victims Fund and serve 6 years of supervised release following his sentence.
