Teens arrested for damaging mailboxes and cemetery

Two teens have been arrested following an investigation into damage done to mailboxes and a cemetery.

On Wednesday, the Grant County Sheriff's Department investigated reports of damage and vandalism to approximately a dozen mailboxes in the Livingston, Wisconsin area.  They later learned that extensive damage had been done to the Rock Church Cemetery, east of Livingston. They say nearly 100 tombstones and grave markers were damaged.

Wednesday evening, deputies arrested Daniel Stivarius, 17, of Fennimore, Wisconsin, and Briton Middleton, 17, of Livingston, Wisconsin.

Both are charged with criminal damage to property.

Charges are pending against at least one other person.

If you live in the Livingston area and had damage to your mailbox but did not report it, you are asked to call the sheriff's department at 608-723-2157.
