Tiger football has high expectations

The Cedar Falls football team opened their camp this week, with high expectations for the season. After finishing the regular season undefeated last year the Tigers fell to 4A runner up Iowa City High.

This season they return several key starters including veteran running back Barkley Hill and wide receiver James Harrington. The quarterback job is still up for grabs but they have worked hard this off-season to have another great year.

"You know the kids that are coming back aren't satisfied with the way things ended last year and we lost to a very good City High team and that helped them in the off season want to work harder and we want to move on further," Co-Head Coach Brad Remmert said.

"We know what the veterans can do but the things we have to sort out is the new guys...We lost some really good players that left and graduation and were going to have to fill those spots," Co-Head Coach Pat Mitchell said.

The Tigers open the season Aug. 26, at Dubuque Hempstead.
