Lenz ready for break-out season at ISU

Former Dubuque Hempstead Josh Lenz may be one of the go-to guys in Ames this season.  Currently listed second on the depth chart, the Cyclone junior showed glimpses during the 2010 season of what may be yet to come.

Lenz caught 14 passes during the season for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He also showed brilliance at times on special teams after returning a punt for a score in the victory over Kansas.

The one moment, however, that most Cyclone fans will remember came in ISU's upset victory over Texas.  On a high pass by quarterback Austen Arnaud, Lenz leapt and made a fingertip catch, all while trying to get a foot down in the back of the end zone.

The moment helped propel the Cyclones to a 28-21 victory, and it's one play that Josh Lenz will never forget.

"I was just out there playing football, but looking back it's pretty neat, said Lenz, "I have people all the time come up to me and say you know how big that is to make a catch against Texas in Texas.  It's pretty neat to be able to help a team win down there ."

Lenz hopes the play is just a sign of things to come as he and the Cyclones open play September 3, against Northern Iowa.
