Coralville shuts down 4-year old's lemonade stand

A Coralville dad says the city shut down his daughter's lemonade stand on Friday during RAGBRAI.

Dustin Krutsinger says his four-year old daughter, Abigail, set-up a lemonade stand on Friday as bike riders came into town during the 39th Annual Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.

Krutsinger says that after about 30 minutes, police came and told him and his daughter couldn't run the stand because they didn't have a permit.

He says the city is going too far by forcing a four-year old to shut down their lemonade stand.

The city says the ordinance requires food vendors to have a permit and get a health inspection.  They add that they enforced the ordinance for health reasons, because people have gotten sick from food and drink they got during RAGBRAI.
