Perennial baseball power Kee High is looking for another state title after a 14 run offensive explosion Monday that sent the Hawks to the state semi-finals.
"You're not going in looking for a cake walk. You're going in looking for a good game and hopefully you can put up a couple runs," says Athlete of the Week Jon Heiderscheit.
Leading the Kee Hawks this season is Jon Heiderscheit. You can date it back to day one this season when he batted .428, or his home run that sparked a sub-state win over Don Bosco, or even his 3 for 3 day at the plate Monday with 3 runs batted in. Heiderscheit has been a catalyst for the Hawks this season.
"We expect that from him and I know he challenges himself all the time and we challenge him as well. He's good around the plate sneaky fast and can keep them off stride a little bit,'' says Kee Head Coach Gene Schultz.
Also an ace for the Hawks, Heiderscheit notched his 13th win of the season Monday to go along with his season of 118 strike outs and 1.95 ERA. Leading a group of seniors to what will be the biggest game of their young careers.
Heiderscheit will play college ball at Mankato State next season.
