Mississippi River has risen four feet in 12 hours in Dubuque

The National Weather Service says the Mississippi River in Dubuque has risen four feet in 12 hours.

According to hydrology reports released by the NWS, the Mississippi River rose from 12 feet to over 16 feet between 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Officials in Dubuque say they are in the process of closing flood walls in the city.
