IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City man is facing a harassment charge after police say he followed a woman around a grocery store taking cell phone pictures of her.

According to police, Israel Cubias Martinez, 34, followed the woman around the Hy-Vee on Waterfront Drive and took pictures of her.

According to the criminal complaint, Martinez followed the woman around the store on May 6 and was staring at her.  The complaint goes on to say that Martinez then took out his cell phone and started taking pictures of her.  The victim told police that she became scared and started crying before running out of the store.

She then told officers that Martinez followed her in his car until she drove to the police substation.

Police say that Martinez then approached the woman in the same Hy-Vee on Friday and took more pictures of her on his cell phone.

Police say Martinez has no reason to have personal contact with the victim.  She told police that she is very scared, annoyed and intimidated by Martinez.

He is charged with third degree harassment.
