4 injured in Johnson County collision


Four people are injured after the driver of a RV lost control on Highway 1 in Johnson County Tuesday night.

Officials with the Iowa State Patrol report 63-year-old Christopher Ewer of Albuquerque, New Mexico was driving south on Highway 1 when he lost control, causing the RV to roll on its side. 40-year-old Karla Kruse of New Vienna was driving north and tried to avoid hitting the RV, but couldn't.

Kruse's vehicle rolled into the ditch. She, and two passengers, 12-year-old Laura and 7-year-old Molly were all taken to the University of Iowa hospitals by ambulance.

Ewer was also taken to the hospital. Officials have not released their conditions.

Ewer is charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
