DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Washington scored eight-straight runs after falling into a two-run deficit for an 8-4 comeback win against ADM Tuesday night in the Class 3A quarterfinals of the Iowa High School Baseball Tournament.

Scoreless through three innings, ADM put up two runs in the top of the fourth. Colin Buchman walked to lead off the inning and with one out, Tyler Spencer walked ahead of Grant Goeden who singled to load the bases. Starting pitcher Brad Weatherman was pulled in favor of Josh Moore and, after having Austin Luellen in an 0-2 count, threw four consecutive balls to walk in the leading run. Trevor Volz then popped a bunt into no-man's land down the third base line. Demons' third baseman Colin Steele scrambled to pick up the ball and throw home, but Spencer raced in from third and was ruled safe on the force attempt, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

Washington rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning, batting around and scoring five runs on only two hits. Brian Roder walked to start the inning and moved to third base after a one-out double from designated hitter Austin Knupp. Moore then redeemed his pitching performance, driving in both runners from scoring position to tie the game at 2-2. Anthony Ossman was issued a walk and with runners on fist and second, Weatherman moved both runners over with an infield groundout. Jake Redlinger followed with a two-run single lined up the middle and moved up to third base on an error charged to Tigers' center fielder Lucas Thompson. Redlinger scored the final and fifth run of the inning on a wild pitch from ADM starter Dylan Nelson.

The Demons would add three runs in the home half of the sixth on a pair of doubles from Colton Covington and Weatherman that scored one run and two runs, respectively.

Washington advances to the semifinals and will play the winner of Boone and Harlan Friday at 2 p.m.
