Thomas Voeckler maintains Tour de France lead entering 19th stage

Andy Schleck vows to make up his 15-second deficit on yellow jersey holder Thomas Voeckler atop the famed Alpe d'Huez as riders set off on the Tour de France's 19th stage.

The tour's final mountain stage is a short, yet demanding 68-mile race that takes the 168 remaining riders over three difficult climbs, including the Col du Telegraphe and the Col du Galibier. That's where Schleck launched a daring attack Thursday that none of the other riders could follow.

France's Voeckler is defending his yellow jersey for a 10th day needing to at least keep pace with Schleck up the 21 brutally steep switchbacks through the top of the 6,069 foot Alpe d'Huez.
