Fire department lending truck to Waterloo crew

The Waterloo Fire Department is getting a little help from firefighters in Cedar Falls.

Two Waterloo fire trucks are out of commission due to some general wear and tear, so the department needed to borrow a reserve truck from the Cedar Falls Fire Department.

Waterloo Director of Safety Services, Dan Trelka, says its all part of plan to work together with area firefighters.

"That's the great thing about fire services, the brotherhood of the services we can rely on one another and Cedar Falls loaned us their reserve truck and we have our reserve truck and Evansdale who has helped us in the past," said Trelka.

The Waterloo Fire Department hopes to have both trucks fixed and in operation by the weekend.
