200 soldiers welcomed home in Cedar Falls and Coralville

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

More than 200 soldiers were welcomed back to Iowa on Monday after a year-long deployment to Afghanistan.

Homecoming ceremonies for Companies B and C, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division were held on Monday in Cedar Falls and Coralville.

About 100 soldiers in Company C were welcomed home at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. This was the second homecoming ceremony scheduled at the UNI Dome.

About 110 soldiers in Company B were welcomed home at the same time at the Marriott Conference Center in Coralville.

About 30 ceremonies are expected to take place over the next two weeks to welcome 2,900 Iowa National Guard members home.
