WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Iowa Department on Aging is looking for people who are 100 years old or older.

Each year the governor honors those who reach this milestone. Recognition is available for anyone who turned or turns 100 between October 7th 2010, through October 6th of 2011.

If you or a family member knows of anyone this age, you can contact your local area agency on aging.

You can reach the Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging  at 319-272-2244 or 1-800-779-8707. The Heritage Agency on Aging can be reached at 319-398-5559.

The statewide registry of centenarians currently includes 676 Iowans. 586 of those are women, while only 90 are men.
