Two arrested after meth ingredients found in Waterloo car

Two people were arrested early Tuesday morning after officers found ingredients used to make meth were found in a car on Logan Avenue.

The Tri-County Drug Task Force says at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers on patrol saw the ingredients to make meth inside a car at 1732 Logan Avenue.

In their search, officers also found what they believed to be an explosive device.  The Waterloo Bomb Squad was called in and they neutralized it and removed it from the area.  Lt. McNamee with the Waterloo Police says it turned out not to be a bomb.

Officers seized the possible meth ingredients and arrested David Carl Sagert, 46, and Annette Hansen, 44, both of Waterloo.  They are both charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth. Sagert was also arrested on a separate warrant for first-degree harassment.

Sagert's bond was set at $105,000, while Hansen's bond was set at $100,000.

The task force expects to make more arrests related to this case.
