Five people were arrested Monday during a drug bust in Iowa City.

Police served a search warrant at 1111 Hollywood Boulevard at around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Inside the house, officers say they found marijuana, packaging materials, a scale and numerous other items.

Police say some of the drugs were on the floor in easy reach of small children living in the home.  They say some was even found in a small child's backpack.

One suspect, Martarius Marki Junious, 20, told officers that his finger prints would be on some of the baggies and a glass jar of marijuana because he handed them to someone else.  He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, child endangerment and keeping a drug house.

Devin Tyrone Smith, 20, is charged a controlled substance violation, keeping a drug house, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment.

Darnell Aaron Young, 19, told officers that some of the marijuana belonged to him and said that he sold the baggies for five dollars.  He also admitted to buying some of the marijuana in Mississippi and bringing to Iowa.  Officers say some of the marijuana that Young admitted was his, was found laying on the floor near two small children.  He is charged with child endangerment, a controlled substance violation, possession or distribution without a tax stamp and keeping a drug house.

Jakari Eman Smith, 19, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police also arrested Dalesha Barton, 18.  Officers say her two-year old child was home at the time.  She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment.

Officers say it was clear that the residents were using the home to sell and use drugs.
