UPDATE: Cedar Rapids soldier killed by Afghan security forces


The Iowa National Guard says a Cedar Rapids soldier was killed Saturday by an Afghan Security officer.  39-year-old SFC Terryl Pasker died Saturday in Panjshir Province after the Afghan National Directorate Security officer stopped Pasker's vehicle, then shot and killed Pasker and a civilian passenger.  MSG Todd Eipperle was in the vehicle in front of SFC Pasker and exchanged gunfire with the Afghan officer, killing him.  Eipperle was wounded in the gunfight and is being treated at a U.S. Army facility in Afghanistan.   The attack is under investigation.  SFC Pasker was assigned to the 334th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division based in Cedar Rapids.  He is survived by his wife, parents, a brother and two sisters.  Funeral arrangements have not been set.
