A memorial service and burial is set for today for an Eastern Iowa soldier killed in Iraq.

Friends and family of Captain Matthew Nielson will gather at the Greene County Community Center at noon.

Nielson will be buried at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter following the service.

The 27-year-old University of Northern Iowa graduate died June 29, along with two other soldiers.

Flags should be at half-staff in his honor until 8 a.m. Monday.
