Marion art studio welcomes creative kids

Are your kids stuck in a creative rut being out of the classroom?

Consider taking a trip to downtown Marion.

The young and young at heart can make their own kind of masterpiece at the Dreaming Bear gift shop and open art studio.

Danielle Sunseri wanted to surprise her dad with a homemade gift.

"I'm working on a "D" for my dad and its really special because he like sports," said Sunseri.

Sunseri was able to paint and design the wood letter with help from Dreaming Bear owner Dori Patrick.

"I've always been a maker of things. About the age of seven or eight I was making drawings and hanging them in the livingroom, pretending I had a gallery," said Patrick.

Patrick opened the shop in 2004.

For just three dollars an hour customers can create a variety of personal projects.

"The average child spends about $15 to $20 dollars so it's a really good and fun experience for a good value.  We love it when the customers come in and they're laughing out loud the whole way through."

Dreaming Bear staff will take care of the cleanup.

"Its really great for moms because they don't have to spend the money on the supplies and clean up the mess after the child is done!"
