CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The Cedar Rapids Jaycees will host a 4th of July tailgate party at their newly rebuilt center located at 225 5th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids from 2pm - 8 PM.

"Come for a day of fun with your friends and the Cedar Rapids Jaycees. Food and beverage will be available for purchase and tailgating games will be available for people to relax and enjoy the day," said Katie Goldensoph.

Goldensoph is one of the 89 members of the Cedar Rapids Jaycees.   The Cedar Rapids Junior Chamber is a civic organization comprised of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40.   Their mission is to develop future leaders through leadership training, community service, networking and civic involvement.

"Rain or shine the event will go on!  Since this event will be serving alcohol, this will only be open to adults 21 and over.  Patrons will be required to provide photo ID to get in," said Goldensoph.

The 2008 flood washed out the Jaycee's former building.  They broke ground on their new building in 2009 and are ready to show it off to the public.

The organization is always looking for new members. You can find more information on their website.
