Washington voters reject school bond

Posted:
WASHINGTON (KWWL) -

Voters in Washington County went to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school bond issue. Voters are deciding not to support renovations to the current high school.

The $9 million dollar bond needed 60 percent to pass.A quarter of registered voters cast ballots. But just 52 percent of them wanted it, so it fails.

Washington will have a new high school next year and this money was going to be used to renovate the old high school, which will house middle schoolers starting next year.
