Iowa City man faces burglary and weapons charges


An Iowa City man faces burglary, assault and weapons charges.

Iowa City Police report that 22-year-old Cheaster Snagg approached a vehicle in the 1100 block of Hollywood Blvd. with a rifle. Two women were seated in the vehicle. They claim Snagg punched on of the woman in the head then made them drive him to his home in the 1100 block of Arthur Street. While at the home, one of woman was allowed to leave and call for help. Snagg was arrested outside of his home.

Police recovered the rifle with ammunition.

Snagg has two previous robbery conviction stemming from a 2006 and 2008 incidents both in Iowa City.

He now faces 1st degree burglary, possession of a firearm as a felon, assault while participating in a felony, domestic assault while displaying a weapon, harassment and public intoxication charges.
