EUGENE, OREGON (KWWL) -- Former UNI track star Tyler Mulder finished 4th in the men's 800  at the U.S. Track and Field Championships.  Mulder's finish left him one spot shy of qualifying for the U.S. team at the World Championships.

Mulder came into the race with the second fastest qualifying time in the semifinals.  His time of 1:45.59 was the fastest he had run in the weekend.  Mulder's 4th place finish marked the second straight year he'd finished in that spot in the championships.

Former Panther distance runner Shayla Houlihan also ran on Sunday finishing 14th in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase.
