Record and No-No highlight West's sweep over Linn-Mar

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Jadyn Spencer had a night she'll likely never forget.  The Waterloo West senior pitched the first no hitter of her career on top of setting the state's all-time home run record in the Wahawks sweep over Linn-Mar.

Spencer's record breaking home run came in game 2 as she lined a first inning shot over the left field wall.  That was the 50th of her career breaking the all-time mark of 49 previously held by former North Polk star Sammy Snygg.  Spencer went yard twice adding the 51st of her career as West High won the second game 7-2.

Spencer was also the star of game one as she pitched the first no hitter of her high school career.  A first inning walk and a 7th inning error was all that separated her from pitching a perfect game.

Spencer, the Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year, will attend Alabama in the fall.
