Go-Hawks blank Wahawks, Spencer's record chase continues

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Jadyn Spencer will wait at least one more day to set the state's all-time home run record.  The Waterloo West senior went 0 for 3 in Monday's 2-0 loss to 10th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock.  Spencer currently sits tied for the all time mark with 49 career home runs.

The Go-Hawks took the early lead in Monday's contest on a towering solo home run by Abby Foster in the first inning.  They tacked on one more in the 6th as Sarah Briggs knocked a line a sacrifice fly to left scoring Jordan Westendorf.

Briggs was also brilliant on the mound pitching 7 scoreless innings for the shut-out victory.

For Jadyn Spencer, her record chase moves to Tuesday's home doubleheader versus Linn-Mar.
