Full "Pentagon Papers" released to public

Forty years to the day after the so-called "Pentagon Papers" were leaked to the press, the National Archives will release the full 7,000 page report.

Back in 1967, a whistle-blower leaked incomplete copies of an internal report that suggested the government was lying to the American people about Vietnam.

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling, allowing the publication of the papers, greatly increasing the freedom of the press.

Beginning on Monday, all 47 volumes are available to view at the Johnson, Kennedy and Nixon Presidential Libraries, as well as the National Archives, or click here to read them online.
