America's River Festival in Dubuque wraps up

America's River Festival in Dubuque ended Sunday evening. Hundreds of people enjoyed the warm weather and sampled food from various vendors.

A lot of families attended the last day of the festival, to visit Shrek and Scooby-Doo. Kids also enjoyed the giant inflatables and Euro bungee. Dubuque Idol let 20 kids showcase their vocal talents.

Admission Sunday was free.

Rachel McDermott brought her little boy to America's River Festival.

"We just came out to see the characters and to do the rides, and I was down for the music last night, so I just decided to bring him down today," she said, holding her young son. "Perfect day out for something like this."

Dock Dogs competitions continued Sunday, as well.

Event coordinator Keith Rahe said anywhere from 13,000 to 15,000 people attended this year's festival.
