IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa State Patrol says an Iowa City man who was busted for driving while intoxicated had two young children in the truck with him.

Joshua Levi Bauwens, 29, was stopped around 9:10 p.m. Thursday night on Sand Road in Johnson County by an Iowa State trooper.

According to the trooper, Bauwens was speeding and had a license plate light out.  Trooper Hernandez says that during the stop, Bauwens failed three field sobriety tests and blew a .10 B.A.C. on the preliminary breath test and registered a .12 B.A.C. on the Datamaster.

Trooper Hernandez also reported that there were two young girls in the truck, ages four and seven.

Bauwens is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and child endangerment.
