Help Oliver get to Disney World

December 23rd, 2009 will be a date Oliver and his parents will always remember.

"Oliver has a pediatric brain stem tumor which is obviously located in the brain stem of the area of the vital function of the body. It's inoperable," said Stacy Palmer, Oliver's mother.

Oliver was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG. This nine year old's cancer is inoperable or incurable because his cancer cells are spread like pepper in his brain, making it hard for doctors to get it all out.

Before the diagnosis he was a very active little boy.

"I used to play little league baseball," said Oliver Palmer.

He still active, but each day is a different story, some good days and some bad. For Oliver's father, faith is what is keeping him going.

"I don't believe this is it, that there is more to this life. I believe families can be eternal and I will see Oliver again and we will one day enjoy each other's company. I also believe that God can heal if that was the case too," said Ed Palmer.

For today Oliver enjoys just jamming out with his family, but if you asked him what he would really enjoy...

"Go to more theme parks and Disney World," said Oliver.

That dream of going to Disney could become reality. On Saturday, June 11th, family and friends of Oliver are hosting a benefit to help him. It will be held at the National Cattle Congress from four to nine. All money raised will help Oliver get to Disney World.

A benefit fund has also set up at Wells Fargo Bank under Oliver Palmer Benefit Fund.
