UNI Track athletes fail to advance at NCAA's

DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Wednesday was day one of the NCAA division one track and field championships from Des Moines. The nation's best athletes are at Drake Stadium for the four day competition, including a few UNI Panthers. The Northern Iowa men's 4 x100 team of Carlos Anderson, Derek Kramer, Wilmot Wellington, and Jarred Herring sprinted to a time of 40-point-56 seconds. That would give them 21st in the event as they'd fall short of qualifying for the final.

In the women's 800 meter run, Holli Hosch of UNI clocked the third fastest time in Panther history going just over 2 minutes 6 seconds. And while her 16th place finish didn't qualify her for the finals, it was good enough to give the senior second team All-American honors.
