Cassill Motors organizes donation drive for tornado victims

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Cedar Rapids company is taking donations to send directly to tornado victims in Joplin.

Cassill Motors has launched "Operation Blessing." For the next three weeks they'll collect food, clothing, and household items at all four of their locations.

They've also set up a drop-off site at Performance Concepts in Marion.

Organizers hope to fill two semi trucks full of supplies and drive them straight to Missouri.

"When you're at the grocery store, grabbing the beans and corn, grab an extra can and bottled waters.  Lets think about the people down there that lost their houses. They lost everything," said Jay Cassill.

Cash donations can be dropped off or mailed to any Wells Fargo bank. Just mark the donation to "Operation Blessing."
