Romney leads new Iowa poll

A poll out Wednesday puts Mitt Romney leading the Republican pack.

The poll by Public Policy Polling in North Carolina asked Iowa Republican primary voters to choose between eight potential candidates.

Romney comes in at 21%, Palin and Cain tied for 2nd at 15%, and Gingrich comes in at 12%. Rounding out the field, Pawlenty has 10%, Paul at eight-percent, and Huntsman with almost no support.

"Romney has the nominal lead but the fact that there are six people polling at double digits shows how wide open the race is in Iowa," said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling.
