Millersburg man to ride across Iowa for Alzheimer's research

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa man will look to raise money for Alzheimer's research riding on horseback.

80 year old Bill Taylor of Millersburg will ride his horse Liberty more than 250 miles across Iowa.

He expects his trek across the state to take between 10 and 15 days, with all funds raised going toward University of Iowa Alzheimer's research.

"There's very little treatment for it.  We remain without any major medications for it that are really effective, so it's a big problem," said Doctor Daniel Tranel, a UI professor of neurology.
