Cyclone Tailgate Tour - KWWL - Eastern Iowa Breaking News, Weather, Closings

Cyclone Tailgate Tour

The wet weather moved the entire event indoors this year at the National Cattle Congress in Waterloo, although a large crowd of Cyclone fans still braved the storms to hob-nob with their favorite coaches and players during their annual Tailgate Tour.

The line-up included the ISU Basketball Coach Fred Hoiberg, Football Coach Paul Rhoads, Wrestling Coach Kevin Jackson, along with Volleyball Coach Christy Johnson-Lynch.

And none of them seemed surprised that the weather had little effect on the turn-out.

"They make our job fun by us going out, and giving us the great support. It helps with our recruiting for kids coming in to see the type of support they'll get if they play at Iowa State. It's one of the biggest selling points we have is the fan support that we get on a nightly basis," Fred Hoiberg said.

"It's always enthusiastic up here. I love this venue, the music and how comfortable people are here, this is a great trip for us," Paul Rhoads said.

The Cyclones are halfway through the 12 stop tour which wraps up in Omaha in two weeks.
