IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A North Liberty woman faces drug charges after deputies say a cavity search turned up marijuana.

Iowa City Police stopped a vehicle driven by Denaya Nichole Humphreys, 32, on Thursday night in the 800 block of Crosspark Avenue.

During the traffic stop, a passenger in the car admitted to police that he had marijuana on him and he had just shared a joint with Humphreys.

After several tests, officers say they determined that Humphreys was under the influence of marijuana.

She was taken to the Johnson County Jail for booking.  While being processed, a deputy found a small metal canister inside Humphreys' genital area.  Deputies say they found a "small bud of marijuana" inside the canister.

Humphreys is charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and possession of contraband in a correctional facility.
