IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Officers say they found syringes, razor blades and marijuana in the bedroom of a child after searching an Iowa City residence Wednesday.

Police searched the home at 627 Orchard Court around 11:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Inside, officers say they found syringes used to inject heroin, razor blades with drug residue and marijuana with packaging, all in a child's bedroom.  Officers say they also found a large pile of several hundred used syringes in a room near piles of children's toys.  They say all of the syringes were at a height where a child could reach them.

Police say they also found pornographic DVD's mixed in with other movies in the child's bedroom.

Christopher Robert Hinshaw, age 27, was arrested and is charged with neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, two counts of controlled substance violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and keeping a drug house.

Police say Hinshaw, also known as Crick, admitted to using heroin and marijuana and to selling the drugs to support his habit.
