Iowa Workforce Development Director Teresa Wahlert announced today Thursday that Ed Wallace will serve as the Deputy Director of Iowa Workforce Development.

"I am pleased to have Ed, a native Iowan with deep experience working with Iowa employers, join our team as Deputy Director of Iowa Workforce Development," said Wahlert. "Ed's experience working in the federal government, coupled with his tax policy background, and deep commitment to job creation in Iowa, will help advance our goal of creating the sustainable jobs of tomorrow."

Wallace spent over four years as president of the nonpartisan Iowa Taxpayers Association, a business tax policy group comprised of over 160 firms in and around the state of Iowa.  Wallace previously served as an aide to former U.S. Attorney Matthew Whitaker in Des Moines, Iowa and as an aide to U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley in the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance in Washington, DC.

He is a native of Iowa City, where he attended Iowa City Regina High School.  He earned a B.A. degree from Simpson College in Indianola and completed graduate course work in Public Administration at Iowa State University.  Wallace currently resides in Urbandale, Iowa with his wife Jennifer and two sons.
