1A District Track at Grundy Center

The Coed State High School track meet is just a week away and the road to state is paved through the district track meets.

14 girls and 14 boys teams competing in a 1A District meet in Grundy Center.

In the boys 4 by 200 meter relay no one is close to Ben Close as he anchors Wapsie Valley to a victory.

In the girls 100 meter hurdle Dara Lipke of Alburnett gets to the line first.

In the boys 110 highs.. UNI recruit Luke Urbes of BCLUW comes home first in 15.19 seconds.

A great finish to the boys 16-undred meters as Jay Welp BCLUW rallies to overtake NU High's Terry Nielsen at the tape.

NU High gets a win in the 200 meters as the Little Panthers' Andrew Stone out sprints a strong field which featured North Tama's Brendan Boerhm and Wapsie's Ben Close.

The Grundy Center girls go one-two in the 800 meter run- Hannah Stumberg is first and Sara Frisch finishes second.

    Football is back. Preseason football, that is.  KWWL is airing all four Green Bay Packer preseason football games both its main channel and the CW.  This Sunday, August 19, the Packers head to Maryland to play the Redskins at 6:30 p.m. This will be on the CW, however only syndicated shows will be affected so there isn't anything re-airing. Next Saturday, August 26, the Packers head to Denver to play the Broncos at 8:00 p.m. on KWWL. The KWWL News at 10 will run on the CW....
