WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging in conjunction with the Iowa Department of Agriculture will begin distributing Farmers Market coupons and nutrition education to eligible older persons in June. To be eligible for the Farmer Market coupons people must be 60 years of age or older with a household income level at or below $20,147 if single or $27,214 for a married couple.

"Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging wants to help promote healthy and nutritious food choices for the older people we serve," stated Sally Myers, Associate Director at Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging. "With this program, older persons are able to access fresh, locally grown produce throughout the summer."
