Employers add 200,000 jobs nationwide in April

If you're looking for a job, there's some good news to share.  The US Labor Department says employers added more than 200,000 jobs in April.  That's the biggest hiring spree in five years.  Employment experts say that hiring is widespread, ranging from retail to factories and education jobs.  One key tool for job seekers to keep in mind is how to use social networks to their advantage and doing everything possible to stand out in the field.

"How are you developing your marketing capital as a resume to stand out above the crowd?  You might not get noticed if you don't.  So it's those kinds of things you need to take into account as far as how competitive the market is," said Lisa Smith, president of Career Connections in Cedar Falls.

Smith says the biggest concern in the job market now may be the rising gas prices.  The higher prices at the pump don't help boost consumer confidence and may even cause some people to turn down job opportunities because they can't afford to commute.
