WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo woman will spend more than nine years in federal prison for selling methamphetamine in Waterloo.

Amanda Cooley, 28, pleaded guilty on Jan. 20, to one count of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.  Court documents say she sold more than five pounds of the drug.

At her hearing, Cooley admitted that she and her boyfriend were getting meth from Arizona and selling it in and around Waterloo.  They say it occurred over a seven month period.

Cooley was sentenced to nine years and two months in prison and five years of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
