Iowan charged with threatening to blow up Amana after Osama death

A man who threatened to blow up Amana Tuesday night is sitting in the Iowa County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.

Boubker Lamkadmi, 41, is charged with threat of terrorism.  That's a class D felony.

It all started around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when employees of Whirlpool in Middle Amana called authorities.  Employees said a man was making threats, saying he intended to "blow up Amana" because his friend and brother Osama bin Laden was killed.

Lamkadmi later told the Iowa County Sheriff he was kidding.

Officials said Lamkadmi never possessed any weapons or explosive devices.  They say it doesn't appear employees were ever in danger.
