CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Missouri man will spend more than seven years in federal prison after being convicted of bringing drugs from Denver, Colorado to the Waterloo and Cedar Falls area.

Lucio Andazola-Fimbres, 40, from Milan, Missouri, pleaded guilty on Dec. 16, 2010 to distributing cocaine and conspiring to distribute cocaine.

Andazola-Fimbres admitted that he had made at least seven trips to Iowa over the course of a year, bringing anywhere from 2 to 4 kilograms of cocaine on each trip.

Court documents show that he delivered the cocaine to Mark Hopper and Robert Dale, who would then cook the cocaine into crack cocaine and sell it in the Waterloo area.

Andazola-Fimbres was sentenced to two 87 month prison sentences which will run concurrently.  He will also serve a five year term of supervised probation when he is released from prison.
