One injured in car vs. semi accident on Hwy. 30

One man was injured Thursday morning after his car collided with a semi on Highway 30 at Knapp Road.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says a semi driven by 61-year-old Jesse Allen Stone of Guyman, Oklahoma, was attempting to turn around at Knapp Road from the outside lane and turned in front of a car driven by 47-year-old Michael Alan Powers of Bennett, who was driving in the inside lane.

Powers was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Stone was not injured.

Eastbound Highway 30 was blocked due to the accident and Linn County Haz Mat was called in because the car hit the gas tank of the truck causing fuel to spill onto the road.

The accident remains under investigation.
