LA PORTE CITY (KWWL) -

The knights of Union High School were loud and proud Thursday morning during a pep rally for Today In Iowa. Andy McQuillen is the activities director. He says the students at Union High School are really involved in all different activities.

"We are really fortunate to have kids who work really hard in the classroom and then they get really involved with the activities before and after school," said McQuillen.

Along with successful athletics, the knights have dedicated cheerleaders, actors, and singers.  Students involved with The Civil War play will have an opportunity to perform at The Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa's campus in Cedar Falls.

"The Civil War Play is a collection of musical songs and dialog to help portray the emotions that the slaves, women, and soldiers went through," said TJ Gray, cast member.

The play is on May 23rd at 8:00 p.m.
