Iowa City man charged with holding woman against her will for hours

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City woman told police that she was held against her will and assaulted for more than five hours on Sunday and Monday.

The criminal complaint says that Wufax Isles, 30, also known as Sir Mason Phillips Isles, held the woman against her will and assaulted her from about 10:30 p.m. Sunday until about 3:00 a.m. Monday at 2601 Lakeside Drive, apt. # 12.  The victim said she was degraded, slapped, punched and strangled.  She suffered multiple cuts and bruises.

Police say that Isles would not let the victim leave and kept her phone from her.  When she tried to leave, she told police that Isles shove her hand away and threatened to kill her.

Police say Isles has a prior domestic violence conviction on February 12, 2010.

Isles is now charged with domestic abuse/assault with intent to injure and false imprisonment.
