Iowa City Police bust apartment used to sell drugs

Iowa City Police busted an apartment on Monday that was used to sell drugs to at least two Iowa City High students.

Police served a search warrant at 2037 Kountry Lane, Apt. 11, around 11:00 p.m. on Monday.

During their search, officers found marijuana, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.

They arrested 19-year-old Ryan Grant Africa and 18-year-old Jesse Lee Hodges.

According to police, Africa admitted to using the apartment for the use of marijuana.  Hodges admitted using the apartment to distribute marijuana and told officers that he sold marijuana to two Iowa City High students on April 20.  One of the students was under the age of 18.

Africa is charged with possession of a controlled substance, gathering for the use of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hodges is charged with possession with intent to deliver, gathering for the use of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and distributing to a person under the age of 18.
